Ahmed Nabizada remembers standing in the candle section on one of his days as a Walmart department manager. As he looked at the rows of candles of all shapes and sizes, he worried. Originally from Kabul, Afghanistan, he had just moved to the United States from Pakistan. He was concerned his first job was going to be a failure, because there were simply too many candles to sell.

Walmart Announces CFO Transition Plan

BENTONVILLE, Ark., Nov. 29, 2021 — Walmart Inc. announced that Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Brett Biggs will begin transitioning from Walmart during this upcoming year, after 22 years with the company, to begin a new chapter of opportunities in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors.

Biggs will remain in the CFO role until a successor is named next year and then support that transition, remaining as an associate until he leaves the company on Jan. 31,

Port Arthur Vaccination Clinic Offering Extended Hours-Happy Thanksgiving

The Port Arthur Health Department is offering extended hours (until 7:00 PM) for the COVID Vaccination Clinic, and 1st, 2nd, or booster shots for those fully vaccinated on November 22, 2021. Pfizer vaccines (and booster shots) are available for children 5-11 and children and adults 12 and up; Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines and boosters are available for individuals 18 and over, just in time for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Please keep your family members safe--get vaccinated today!

Governor Abbott Appoints Ward to State Commission on Judicial Conduct

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Kathy Ward to the State Commission on Judicial Conduct for a term set to expire on November 19, 2027. The commission regulates the conduct of the state judiciary, including the power to recommend for retirement, censure, suspension, or removal of a judge from office.

 

Kathy Ward of Plano is an education technology and education consultant. She is a former morning drive time radio talk show co-host and now co-hosts two podcasts and produces multiple shows on the JPK Broadcasting Network. She currently volunteers as an appointed member of the School Based Improvement Council for Plano Academy High School. She previously served as a Plano Independent School District Special Education Lead Teacher and was appointed and then elected as a Collin County Commissioner. Ward received a bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of North Texas.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (Nov. 3, 2021) – As the 2021 season of the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli winds down, TeamSLR is suiting up for the finale at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas.

 

The 3.426-mile, 20-turn road course that most recently hosted Formula One and its 20-car field on Oct. 24 welcomes Trans Am and its record-breaking 50-car field this Sunday in the Heacock Classic TA2 race. Two of those 50 cars will be fielded by TeamSLR, with Connor Mosack piloting the No. 28 Nic Tailor Custom Fit Underwear/Interstate Foam & Supply Chevrolet Camaro and Chris Liesfeld in the No. 96 M1 Racecars Chevrolet Camaro.
