NOAA Doppler radar imagery indicates that the eye of Ida made 
landfall along the southeastern coast of Louisiana near Port 
Fourchon around 1155 AM CDT (1655 UTC).  Data from an Air Force 
Reserve reconnaissance aircraft and Doppler radar data indicate that 
Ida's maximum sustained winds at landfall were estimated to be 150 
mph (240 km/h).  The latest minimum central pressure estimated from 
reconnaissance aircraft data is 930 mb (27.46 in).

Within the past hour, sustained winds of 43 mph (69 km/h) and a 
gust to 67 mph (107 km/h) were reported at Lakefront Airport in New 
Orleans.

OMAHA, Neb. – Annually one of the most pressure-packed days in golf, the final round of the regular-season ending Pinnacle Bank Championship presented by Aetna didn’t disappoint. Englishman David Skinns earned a one-stroke victory, leaping from 46th in the Korn Ferry Tour points standings to 22nd to reach the PGA TOUR. Skinns, who won the same tournament in 2018, joins 24 other graduates on Sunday evening in securing 2021-22 PGA TOUR membership.

Houston, Texas (Aug. 14, 2021) – Following four practice sessions featuring 27 athletes who are 16 and younger, 16 finalists were announced Saturday evening and remain in the hunt for one of 12 roster spots on the 2021 USA Basketball Men’s U16 National Team.

Twenty-four teams travel to Softball Capital of the World® for fifth-annual USA Softball All-American Games

OKLAHOMA CITY – Elite athletes in the 12-Under Junior Olympic (JO) fast pitch division will once again gather at the Softball Capital of the World® for the fifth-annual USA Softball All-American Games. Slated for August 12-15, the 2021 USA Softball All-American Games will feature 24 teams representing their respective regions from across the country. The prestigious 12-Under event will provide national exposure for the 360 participating athletes as they showcase their skills and compete for the coveted USA Softball All-American Games trophy.

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Thirty-three athletes won titles at the 43rd Barefoot Water Ski National Championships, Aug. 5-7, at Stevenson’s Ski Ranch in Conroe, Texas.
