Lady Buffs Leave Odessa with an LSC Divisional Win, 77-72


CANYON. Texas –
 The Lady Buffs snapped a two-game losing skid on Saturday afternoon as they picked up a 77-72 Lone Star Conference divisional victory over the UT Permian Basin Falcons at the Falcon Dome in Odessa, Texas.
 
Kyla Kane led the way for the Lady Buffs as the junior guard from Wellington went 7-of-12 from the floor including 5-of-9 from behind the arc and 4-of-4 from the free throw line for a game-high 23 points to go along with three rebounds, three assists and a block. Randi Harding added 12 points and three assists followed by Taylor Haggan with 10 points while Taytum Bell had a team-best 10 boards to go along with eight points.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the afternoon going 29-of-55 (52.7%) from the floor including 8-of-25 (32%) from deep and 11-of-15 (73.3%) from the stripe with 36 rebounds (six offensive, 30 defensive), 18 assists, 16 turnovers, four blocks and two steals in the win.
 
Avalon Munoz paced the UTPB offense as she went 7-of-16 from the field and 3-of-6 from the free throw line for a team-best 18 points to go along with seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. The Falcons went 28-of-68 (41.2%) from the floor including 7-of-24 (29.2%) from deep and 9-of-16 (56.3%) from the line with 34 rebounds, 17 assists, nine turnovers, no blocks and five steals.
 
The Lady Buffs return to action on Thursday night as they host the Mustangs of Western New Mexico at the First United Bank Center with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m. in Canyon.
