Carpenter's Shutout Leads Jackets Past Blazers

JACKSON, Miss. – Tack on another victory!

Goalkeeper Jack Carpenter notched the first shutout of his career, propelling LeTourneau men's soccer to a 1-0 victory over Belhaven at the Belhaven Bowl Stadium.

This win marks the first ever for the Jackets at

Belhaven, giving them a 2-0 advantage over Belhaven in its last two meetings.

LETU stung the Blazers early when Syed Zain blasted one to the back of net from Santi De La Torre just four minutes into the contest. Belhaven's Brady Jacobs had a chance to tie the contest at the 51^st minute mark, but a stingy Carpenter rejected the shot for one of his seven saves.

The YellowJackets improve to 5-6 overall, 2-3 in the American Southwest Conference. The Blazers fall to 4-4-1, 2-2 ASC.
