Fort Worth to unveil EnVision Center on May 6

Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center will host the Envision Center, one of 17 nationwide and the only one in Texas.
Fort Worth, Texas- Join the City of Fort Worth and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to celebrate a new partnership at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, site of a new EnVision Center.

Fort Worth is one of 17 cities in the United Sates that has an EnVision Center, and the only one in Texas.

EnVision Centers offer HUD-assisted families access to support services that can help them achieve self-sufficiency, making federal resources more readily available to more households.

Plan to attend these upcoming events:

Grand opening day, 9:30-10:30 a.m., May 6, MLK Community Center, 5565 Truman Drive. Hosted by District 5 Councilmember Gyna Bivens. Guests include Mayor Betsy Price, HUD Regional Administrator Beth Van Duyne and Associate Assistant Deputy Secretary Tim Smyth.

EnVision Center open house, 5-7 p.m. May 9, MLK Community Center, 5565 Truman Drive.

About the EnVision Centers
The opening of the EnVision Center at MLK coincides with the revitalization of the Cavile neighborhood in Stop Six, a $2.56 million project by the city to help add sidewalks, clean up brush, tear down dilapidated structures and add security cameras to help reduce crime.

Located on or near public housing developments, EnVision Centers are centralized hubs that serve as an incubator to support four key pillars of self-sufficiency:

Economic empowerment.
Educational advancement.
Health and wellness.
Character and leadership.
Through results-driven partnerships with organizations such as Fort Worth Housing Solutions, EnVision Centers will leverage public-private partnerships to connect HUD-assisted households with services that offer pathways to self-sufficiency.

Each demonstration community opening an EnVision Center has convened with local stakeholders and resident councils to assist in selecting services to be offered at the center. HUD will develop tools to track and measure resident outcomes of EnVision Center participants and services — the goal of which is to ensure EnVision Centers are able to achieve and monitor progress against the goals of the program.
