UH Athletics, Chartwells Extend Partnership

New enhancements to enrich game day experience

HOUSTON – On Friday, Chartwells Higher Education, also known on campus as University of Houston Dining Services, announced an expanded partnership with the University to include gameday concessions and premium food services to

Houston Athletics facilities, events, and student-athletes. UH Dining currently operates more than 20 dining locations on campus including various facilities across University of Houston System schools.

These new enhancements will bring an updated look and enriched gameday guest experience to concessions stands, premium spaces and fans alike throughout all Houston Athletics venues while offering refreshed branding for Cougar Eats Co., a streamlined appearance for the suites, general stands, and bars.

"Consistent with our goal in providing first-class, memorable experiences at UH Athletics events, our new food service partnership with Chartwells will deliver a whole new level of gameday dining experience to our fans and guests," said Chris Pezman, Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics. "Cougar Eats Co. will provide our fans an expanded array of new food options inside TDECU Stadium on gamedays; including many well-known local favorites."

Expanded food and beverage options will include additional locations and convenient methods to order and pay, reducing lines and keeping fans cheering in the stands. New dining options include Papa John's Pizza, Fry Shack, featuring fries, homemade sauces, and chicken tenders, and Smoked, featuring classic BBQ favorites. Local partners and fan favorites, Waffle Bus and Miss Patty's The Burger Queen will also be offered, along with UH alumni-owned Tacos Go-Go and Turkey Leg Hut. TDECU Stadium will also be serving el pastor tacos, chicken tacos, totchos, margaritas, and the latter specializing in Houston famous stuffed turkey legs.

Returning to TDECU Stadium this fall will be Chick-fil-A along with sEATz, which allows fans the convenience of ordering their food and beverages from their mobile devices while having their orders delivered directly to their seats as they cheer on their Coogs.

"Chartwells Higher Ed is looking forward to the growth of this new partnership and is excited to fuel an elevated fan experience at TDECU stadium," said Charles Pereira, Vice President of Operations for Chartwells HE at the University of Houston System.
