24 athletes will represent U.S., Oct. 29-31, in Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico
AUBURNDALE, Fla. – USA Water Ski & Wake Sports is pleased to announce the 2021 U.S. 35+ Pan American Championships Water Ski Team that will represent the United States at the 2021 IWWF 35+ Pan American Water Ski Championships, Oct. 29-31, in Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico. The team consists of 24 water ski athletes from four – 35+, 45+, 55+ and 65+ – age divisions.
Athletes that have been selected to compete in
the 35+ division are: Tony Knight (Jacksonville, Fla.), Brett Mommer (Dike, Iowa), John Mommer (Eagle Lake, Fla.), Kyle Petit (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.), Stephanie Stange (Sherman, Texas) and Brandon Waters (Lady Lake, Fla.).
Athletes that have been selected to compete in the 45+ division are: Marc Bedsole (Orlando, Fla.), Patricia Burt (Greenacres, Fla.), Jane Greenwood (Little Rock, Ark.), Steven Grubbs (Rio Linda, Calif.), Jody Johnson (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) and Lori Krueger (Martindale, Texas).
Athletes that have been selected to compete in the 55+ division are: Mitch Grau (Carrollton, Texas), Jeff Lindsey (Martindale, Texas), Tina Lindsey (Martindale, Texas), Stephen Miller (Marysville, Wash.), Randy Sterba (San Diego, Calif.) and Shannon Strickland (Seattle, Wash.).
Athletes that have been selected to compete in the 65+ division are: Paul Armour (Plano, Texas), Janie Fausold (Pleasant Grove, Calif.), Leza Harrison (Chuluota, Fla.), Janet Madden (Homer Glen, Ill.), Jack Mills (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Richelle Muhlitner (Rio Linda, Calif.).
The teams were selected by the 35+ Sub Committee of the American Water Ski Association’s International Activities Committee.

In addition to individual medals being awarded in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall, an overall team title will be at stake. Team scoring will be calculated from all of the age divisions combined, per the IWWF 35+ competition rules. The best five team scores from each event (in the preliminaries or the finals) – but with a maximum of two scores from the age categories – are added together to obtain the team score.
USA Water Ski & Wake Sports is affiliated with the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (world governing body) and is recognized by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee and Pan-American Sports Organization as the national governing body of organized water skiing and wakeboarding in the United States.
